Government Guidelines and Lifting of Restrictions Update

Our aim is to provide a safe and secure environment for all

You are our number one priority

In line with Government guidelines regarding the lifting of restrictions on the 19th July our approach will be to gradually ease restrictions across the Chanctonbury Leisure Centre. Please be reassured that the health and wellbeing of our staff, members and local community remain our number one priority.

Do I need to wear a mask inside the building?
It is no longer a requirement to wear a face covering when moving around the building. We would prefer you to wear masks in the communal areas of our building including Reception and Stairwell, especially when busy – however these will be optional. Please note that our staff will continue to wear face coverings

Will the sanitising stations on Reception and in the Gym still be available?
Yes – we will continue to provide the hand sanitising stations and request that all members and visitors sanitise their hands prior to entering or taking part in any activity.

Will the equipment sanitiser in the gym and studio still be available?
The personal equipment sanitiser will stay in place and it will remain an express condition of using the gym that equipment must be sanitised and wiped down after use every time.

Does social distancing still apply?
The Government guidance has removed the need for social distancing. We will be moving towards this gradually and changing the lay out of the gym along with the capacity limits. We do remind customers to be courteous of others and their personal space.

Will lockers and showers be available?
Yes all lockers and showers are open. Our lockers require a padlock which can be purchased from reception.

Do I need to book for the Gym?
Whilst the capacity limits will be raised for the Gym we will continue to monitor these. Therefore booking for the Gym will be optional. If you do book then you are guaranteed your place and you can stay as long as you wish. If you do not book then you will be able to access the Gym if space allows. If the Gym is full at the time of your arrival and you have not booked you may be required to wait for a short while before going in.

Will the floor markings be removed in the Gym?
We will be re-marking the Gym Floor and adding some equipment that was previously removed.

Do I need to book for the Classes?
Yes – booking will remain in place for all classes. Booking in advance is the only way to guarantee your space. Direct Debit Members can book classes 8 days in advance.

Do I need to book for the Health Suite?
Yes – booking will remain in place for all classes. Booking in advance is the only way to guarantee your space. Direct Debit Members can book classes 8 days in advance.

Please be assured that we will continue to monitor the easing of restrictions to ensure the continued health, safety and wellbeing of our customer, staff and visitors.
